1-World School Sponsorship
This school year, our major sponsor 1 Wolrd Charity Shops has started sponsoring many education programs for the disadvantages in our program:
Ty, Thao and Khuong are the disabled children at Da Nang Social Support Center. There is a great need for them to get an education so they can live more independently. They are now having chance to attend a boarding school for children with special needs. We hope the program will help build more life skills and intelligence for these beautiful children.
Sun is an 18 years old girl at Hoa Mai Children Home in our Mekong Delta program. She has just finished her time at the home and as for her situation, she had to stop her study and worked to make money for her family. However, her wish is to pursue a higher education in vocational trainning so she can have more skills for the job market. We have made her wish become true when we have started attending a local Vocational College where she studies about the pharmacy. We hope the study will enable Sun be more confident about her future.
There are 50 disabled women at MeKong Social Support Center. The center has been providing many health care programs such as physiotherapy, occuppational and mental therapy. The program goal is to help them re-enter into communities in the future. We have started a illiteracy program that we support a basic general education for the women. We hope this can help empower their abilities to come back to normal life in the future.
We would like to take this opportunity to say special thanks to 1 World Charity Shops and their supports for this.
“Slavery is one of the worst forms of violence – as is the denial of education. Education is key to liberating children from slavery.”
