Who we are
We are a non-profit organization specializing in volunteer programs that support vulnerable communities such as orphans, abandoned children, children from low-income families, the elderly, homeless people, and people with disabilities. We are currently operating in Da Nang City, Vietnam.
If you join our volunteer programs, you will have the opportunity to provide healthcare, education, and well-being support to around 500 disadvantaged individuals in Da Nang City.
Our organization was founded in 2004 by Mr. Viet Dang, a person passionate about volunteer work and dedicated to helping vulnerable people. Since our establishment, we have welcomed more than 3,000 international volunteers from all over the world to participate in our volunteer programs. Together with these volunteers, we have been helping many disadvantaged people overcome difficulties in life and build a better future.

Your experience with us
We have many years of experience organizing volunteer programs and are committed to providing you with valuable and meaningful experiences when joining our projects. We will arrange accommodation for you at our volunteer house called Green House. Green House offers essential facilities, including fully furnished bedrooms, as well as comfortable working and relaxing spaces. The house is equipped with high-speed internet, making it suitable for studying and working online. We will also provide meals and drinking water. Green House is like a small hotel exclusively for volunteers who live and work in our programs.
Our support staff are fluent in English and passionate about working with international volunteers. They will pick you up at the airport, provide orientation sessions, assist with language interpretation, create work schedules, and accompany you to project sites to support you whenever needed. At the end of each working day, they will share memorable moments with you and discuss the plans for the following day. They are long-term staff members of our organization who deeply understand the needs of vulnerable people and are compassionate individuals dedicated to helping others.
Each week, you will work from Monday morning to Friday morning. After that, you will enjoy a long weekend starting from Friday afternoon, giving you time to relax at the beach or visit tourist attractions around Da Nang. Most evenings are your free time to rest or explore the city center and experience Da Nang’s nightlife.
On some evenings during the week, we will organize cultural experiences for you, such as Vietnamese language classes, Vietnamese cooking lessons, or group dinners with our staff members.
Overall, you will have an amazing opportunity to live within the local community, make friends with local people, and most importantly, help vulnerable individuals overcome their difficult circumstances. We truly believe that you will gain meaningful and unforgettable life experiences that will stay with you for many years to come.
Our team
Our organization is managed and operated by Vietnamese people. We work in a team of around 10 members who are responsible for recruiting volunteers, providing information and support before their arrival in Vietnam to help them best prepare for their trip, welcoming them when they arrive in Da Nang, offering orientation and training programs, planning work activities with the volunteers, and working alongside them.Some team members handle logistics such as cooking meals, cleaning the house, and driving. We all truly love what we do, and many of us have been with the organization for years. Most of us are able to communicate well in English.
Viet Dang - The Founder
Viet founded Volunteer Vietnam in 2004 and has been leading our organization for over 20 years. Before that, he lived and worked in many places across Vietnam and, at times, encountered disadvantaged individuals such as orphans, homeless people, and those with disabilities. He deeply felt their emotional pain and material hardship, and he was determined to do something to help improve their quality of life.Later, while teaching English to children at a school, he had the opportunity to meet several international volunteers who came to Vietnam to assist with English instruction. He became close friends with these volunteers. They told him that, in addition to teaching English, they could also support Vietnam in areas such as healthcare, social care, and other forms of education.Viet saw the opportunity to create a volunteer program to help the vulnerable individuals he had previously met. As a result, he decided to establish Volunteer Vietnam in 2004.
Ly - The Program Manager
Ly is known for her kindness, hard work, and caring spirit. She is deeply passionate about helping others and is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for disadvantaged individuals. Her positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility have made her an invaluable part of the Volunteer Vietnam family.She has been working for Volunteer Vietnam for more than 12 years, with a professional bachground and qualification in Social work, she brings a wealth of experience working with the elderly people, children with disabilities and babies. Her compassionate nature and hands-on approach make her a trusted figure among both the volunteers and the local communities her supports.
Hien - The Volunteer Coordinator
Growing up, Hien admired the dedication of teachers and doctors who served my community. But it wasn’t until she began working at Volunteer Vietnam that she truly understood the depth of service and compassion. Almost ten years into this journey, she is still here, because the work continues, and the purpose has only deepened. Each day brings its own rhythm: teaching energetic kindergarten and primary students, participating in healthcare and education initiatives, and helping underprivileged communities grow stronger. Whether it’s organizing activities for children, assisting with classroom learning, or contributing to community development projects, the impact is real, and the connections are heartfelt. Social work isn’t just a profession, it’s a passion. Her experience with Volunteer Vietnam has given me not just purpose, but a sense of belonging. It’s a space where service becomes transformation and small acts ripple out into meaningful change. As long as there’s work to be done, she' ll keep showing up, ready to make a difference.
Luu - The Media Manager
Luu grew up in a small village nestled in the Central of Vietnam. Her early life was marked by modest means, but she was fortunate to receive generous financial support from kind-hearted benefactors. Thanks to their help, she was able to pursue higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in Business and Marketing. During her college years, Luu became actively involved in social work and various volunteering activities. One of the most unforgettable and meaningful experiences for her was joining a volunteer program at a Social Support Center organized by Volunteer Vietnam. For the first time, she realized how deeply fulfilling it was to bring comfort and joy to underprivileged individuals. The smiles, gratitude, and stories she encountered touched her heart and made a lasting impact. Motivated by this experience and a strong desire to continue contributing to society, she made the decision to join the Volunteer Vietnam team in Da Nang. Today, Luu is proud to be part of a community that shares the same passion for helping vulnerable people across Vietnam.
She was born and raised in Da Nang. After graduating from the Rehabilitation Department at Da Nang College of Medicine and Pharmacy, she worked for one year at the Rehabilitation Hospital. During that time, a friend introduced her to Volunteer Vietnam. While volunteering there, she felt a strong connection and compassion for people in special circumstances and became deeply interested in the meaningful activities that the organization and volunteers were doing to support them. This experience inspired her to leave her job at the hospital and apply to become a full-time member of the organization.
She has been with the organization for 10 years and feels grateful and fulfilled to serve as a bridge connecting international volunteers with people in need.
